Purifying and Distilling Drinking Water
Solar distillers use the sun's rays to heat water until it condenses on the glass. The clean water then runs down into a collection trough and is tubed out into a collection bottle. It sounds simple enough, but 30 years of research have gone into making solar stills produce the highest yield, and determining what is the best materials for construction. (More coming)
NOTE: Mr. Little has recently helped the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) procure three SunWater solar stills to do continued research. Please check back with this site to find out more information on this worthy endeavor.

WAPI
Since Childhood we've all been told to boil suspect water to make it free of micro-organisms. In other words, safe to drink. When I was a Boy Scout (a long time ago) we were told to boil water 5 minutes. Now the American Red Cross says ten minutes. Either way boiling water takes a lot of fuel.
Hundreds of thousands of people all over the world are finding that fuel is not needed, at least fire fuel. Water can be pasteurized in about an hour using the slow fuel - the Sun.
All you need is a solar cooker, a Water Purification Indicator (WAPI), a black painted bottle and you will have turned polluted water into drinkable water.
To find out just how easy it is to make pasteruized water please visit the Solar Cooking Archive. You will learn ot other fantastic ways of using the sun to make drinking water.
